Licensure is required in many states to practice social work and a criminal record could potentially prevent someone from acquiring a license to practice. Also, some employers and field placement agencies require background checks for criminal records. If you have any concerns regarding the status of your eligibility for licensure and availability of field placements or employment opportunities, it is suggested you speak to your advisor, the coordinator of the BSW Program, or the BSW Field Coordinator.
I have read, understand, and agree to abide by the policies and procedures of the USC-BSW Program as stated in the Carolinian Creed (http://www.sa.sc.edu/creed/), BSW Student and Field Manuals, and NASW Code of Ethics (http://www.socialworkers.org/pubs/code/default.asp).
